Children in Care Council (CiCC)

Your Second Voice

Wokingham Children in Care Council (sometimes known as CiCC) are a group of young people who are  either currently in care or who are care leavers.  They act as a second voice for all of Wokingham’s children in care and care leavers to improve their care experience. They try to help improve the lives of children in care by letting those in charge know what life in care is really like.

CiCC is a place where young people in care can have their say on issues that matter to them. It also makes sure that they are listened to by people who make the decisions.  They meet at least once a month to put forward all the things we have heard you need changed. They meet with Managers and Councillors and sit on the Corporate Parenting Board (a group of people who check that the service offered to children in care and care leavers is good enough).  They are also starting to meet up with other CiCCs across the region.
