Welcome to Wokingham Virtual school's website. We are delighted to offer you a collection of information and resources available for our Children in Care, Care Leavers and professionals in the Wokingham Borough. Important information can also be found for our Previously Looked After Children and their parents or guardians, which can be found under the 'Previously Looked After Children' heading.
We are extremely proud of the services we are fortunate enough to offer the Children in Care in Wokingham; however as a small team, we always encourage your feedback with regards to additional ways we can improve the resources and services we currently have available.
Although Wokingham is a small borough, we want our children to have full access to the resources available at any time - which is why this website is also available as an app. We hope this will encourage our young people to take full advantage of the information and links readily available.
We are fortunate enough to have excellent links with other Virtual Schools both locally and nationally; along with advantageous professional relationships within all areas of Wokingham Borough Council and many corporate and smaller companies across the UK. Our intention is to inspire and support our learners as they draw closer to the end of their formal education and instigate professional introductions wherever mutually beneficial.
The Virtual School supports young people (current Children in Care, and Care Leavers) from birth until the age of 25. It is our hope that all Care Leavers regardless of age, find our website an invaluable source of support and resources.
Our remit is simple but far reaching. We aim to support all Care Leavers, Children in Care and Previously Looked After Children to achieve the highest educational standards of which they are capable. We aim to act as a 'good parent' would; our mantra is therefore to "never give up" on anyone.
I am certain that you will find the website useful, informative and interesting, and I look forward to supporting yourself and your young person in the near future.
